The purpose of this study was to determine the development of an evaluation instrument for Arabic vocabulary writing skills by describing pictures at SDIT Imam Asy-Syafi'i. Until now, the development of evaluation instruments for writing skills is still a major concern. The development of evaluation instruments is increasingly spreading its wings in all aspects, for example in the four abilities of Arabic language learning, namely listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. This research will provide new insights into how to develop an evaluation instrument for Arabic vocabulary writing skills by describing pictures at SDIT Imam Asy-Syafi'i. This research uses 4 stages namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The results of this study are most of the fourth grade students of SDIT Imam Asy-Syafi'i from a total of ten questions that researchers gave to students, in the sentence قميص, many students were mistaken in writing the letter "Sad ” in the sentence. Approximately half of the total fourth grade students of SDIT Imam Asy-Syafi'i.
