The 2024 Presidential Election in Indonesia will be an important moment in the democratic process. Social media, as one of the dominant communication platforms, has a big role in influencing public opinion. However, the spread of hoax news on social media can disrupt the integrity of general elections and influence voter decisions. In this context, this journal examines the influence of the spread of hoax news on social media on the 2024 Presidential Election, by referring to Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections and Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions. The results of the analysis show that the spread of hoax news has a significant impact on the general election process and there needs to be stronger efforts to monitor and control the spread of hoax news on social media to maintain the integrity of the democratic process. Voter awareness and caution in checking the veracity of the information they receive is also an important factor in reducing the negative impact of the spread of hoax news.
