Abstract

This study explores the phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), which has become increasingly prevalent in the digital age, especially in relation to social media and its impact on human behavior. FOMO often leads to feelings of anxiety due to fear of missing out on information or experiences deemed important. This phenomenon has the potential to disrupt mental well-being, including among Muslims who are taught to be grateful, patient, and focused on the afterlife. This study employs a qualitative approach through library research to analyze the concept of FOMO from the perspective of Islamic teachings, specifically through the interpretation of Surah Al-Baqarah verse 155. The study also discusses the solutions provided by the Qur’an in addressing FOMO through values of patience, gratitude, and trust in God. The results show that the teachings of the Qur’an can serve as a guide in overcoming the anxiety caused by FOMO and help individuals live a more balanced and peaceful life.
