Analysis of the Differences in the Meanings of the Words Thariq and Salkan in the Qur’an According to Tafsir Al-Kasyaf

Analisis Perbedaan Makna Kata Thariq dan Salkan dalam Al-Qur'an Menurut Tafsir Al-Kasyaf

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in meaning between the words Thariq and Salkan in the Qur'an by referring to Tafsir Al-Kasyaf by Al-Zamakhsyari. The word Thariq is found to have a symbolic and abstract meaning, referring to something that comes at night, such as a star that captures human attention. Meanwhile, Salkan has a literal and concrete meaning, referring to tangible paths that can be traversed by humans to achieve their goals. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods. The analysis applies semantic and contextual approaches to understand the differences in meaning based on word roots and their use in the context of Qur'anic verses. The results show that the linguistic approach in Tafsir Al-Kasyaf reveals profound nuances in the meanings of Qur'anic words. This study contributes to the understanding of linguistic exegesis of the Qur'an and opens opportunities for similar studies on other words with overlapping meanings.
