Thoughts on Islamic Education According to the Perspective of Buya Hamka

This research aims to understand the concept of Islamic educational thought according to Buya Hamka so that it can be applied in today's world of education which is full of problems of inequality in values and morals. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach, namely collecting books by Buya Hamka as primary data as well as books and other written works about Buya Hamka such as journals, theses and theses, to then be studied and analyzed to produce conclusions. This research is limited to Buya Hamka's thoughts regarding education, especially Islamic education in Indonesia. The research results show that Buya Hamka's concept of Islamic education emphasizes maximum effort in growing and strengthening individual personality. From the results of this study, the author develops the process of the emergence of Buya Hamka's thoughts, which shows the connection between Buya Hamka's educational thoughts and his life journey. Next, the author analyzes Buya Hamka's thoughts in relation to current conditions, finds the relevance of Buya Hamka's Islamic educational thoughts to current conditions, and concludes that the application of these thoughts can lead the nation to a better life.
