The Rejection of the Prophetic Message and Its Relevance to the Community's Refusal (Muslims) of Islamic Family Law Reforms

The phenomenon of the community's rejection of prophetic messages and the society's rejection of reforms in Islamic family law share common underlying reasons for their rejection. This paper aims to examine the reasons behind these rejections by providing explanations about the history of previous prophets' messages and the dynamics of reforms in Islamic family law. The method applied is library research, which involves the exposition of data from various literature sources relevant to the research theme. The approach used in this research is a descriptive-analytical approach, which involves describing the reasons for the community's rejection of prophetic messages found in the Qur'an and the Hadith of the Prophet, followed by an analysis of these reasons and their application to the rejection of Islamic family law reforms in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that both the rejection of prophetic messages and the rejection of reforms in Islamic family law demonstrate resistance to the adoption of new and more effective legal breakthroughs. Society tends to feel comfortable with the stagnation of existing legal cultures, even if they may no longer be relevant, and therefore rejects the proposed legal transformations with a tendentious attitude.
