The Role of Tafsir in Understanding the Concept of Tawhid in the Qur'an: A Study of the Verses of Faith

This study explores the role of Tafsir (Qur'anic exegesis) in understanding the concept of Tawhid as outlined in the Qur'an, focusing on key verses such as Surah Al-Ikhlas and Ayat al-Kursi. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach, analyzing classical and contemporary Tafsir sources, including the works of Ibn Katsir, Al-Qurtubi, and Al-Baghawi. The findings indicate that Tafsir plays a crucial role in providing an in-depth explanation of the theological and contextual meanings of Tawhid, presenting it as a holistic and dynamic principle in a Muslim's life. The interpretations of these verses emphasize the oneness of God and the rejection of any form of polytheism while also illustrating the practical implications of Tawhid in daily behavior and worship. In conclusion, Tafsir not only reinforces a theoretical understanding of Tawhid but also guides Muslims to implement this faith in all aspects of life, avoiding influences that contradict the principles of Tawhid.
