The Duties, Functions, and Roles of the Secretariat of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) in Assisting the Tasks of the Members of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Palangka Raya City

This study aims to understand the functions and duties of the Secretariat of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) in assisting council members in carrying out their tasks. According to the Mayor's Regulation No. 34 of 2019, the Secretariat of the Palangkaraya City DPRD consists of: the Secretary, General Affairs, Legislation Division, Session Division, and Public Relations, as well as the Budget and Oversight Facilities Division. Based on Law No. 32 of 2004 and Government Regulation No. 41 of 2007, the DPRD Secretariat is classified as a "regional apparatus," serving as an "administrative service" to the DPRD. This includes organizing the financial administration of the DPRD, supporting the duties and functions of the DPRD, and providing as well as coordinating the expertise required by the DPRD. As explained earlier, the DPRD Secretariat plays a crucial and essential role in determining the effectiveness of DPRD services. Based on the research objectives outlined, the appropriate research method to understand the functions and duties of the DPRD Secretariat in assisting council members in performing their tasks is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. This approach will allow the researcher to describe and analyze the empirical reality in depth regarding the role of the DPRD Secretariat.
