This article discusses the role of asbabun nuzul (the causes of revelation) in connecting divine revelation with social reality. The aim of this study is to explain the importance of understanding asbabun nuzul in interpreting the Qur'an so that revelation can be applied in a relevant way to contemporary social life. The research method employed in this study is a literature review, analyzing classical and contemporary tafsir works that discuss the relationship between revelation and the social context during the time of its revelation. The study finds that understanding the context of asbabun nuzul is not only important for understanding the background of revelation but also for linking it to the challenges and issues faced by the Muslim community today. Asbabun nuzul serves as a key to interpret revelation dynamically, allowing it to address social issues that are relevant in every era. In conclusion, a deep understanding of asbabun nuzul can enrich Muslims' comprehension of the Qur'an and facilitate the implementation of revelation in facing the evolving social dynamics.
