Improving the Socio-Emotional Skills of Young Children Through Role-Playing Training

This community service aims to improve the social emotional abilities of young children at RA Amanah Ummah, Laweyan District, Surakarta City, through role playing methods. This activity lasted for four days and included a number of steps, starting from the initial survey, participant selection, routine training, clean rehearsals, to the peak, namely the arts performance in Sriwedari. The role playing method provides direct experience for children to learn to interact, communicate, and understand the feelings and roles of other people. The results of this activity show an increase in children's social emotional abilities, which include aspects of independence, self-confidence, emotional regulation, ability to share, and better interaction with the surrounding environment. This success was driven by effective collaboration between teachers, parents and the implementation team. The role playing method has been proven to be an effective, interactive and fun learning approach in supporting early childhood development. We hope that the results of this service can become a reference for developing similar methods in various other educational institutions.
